Instagram has invest quite a big effort to create a positive philosophy accross the social media industry. And this new feature, Guides, is grabing all the right attention!
As they clearly stated on 18th May 2020, Instagram wants to be a place where users can easily find reliable information and inspiration from their favorite accounts. That’s why they created Guides. It’s Instagram’s new feature and an easy way to discover recommendations, tips and other content from our favorite creators, public figures, organizations and publishers on Instagram.
In my humble opinion, this is a super clever addition for committed users that spend at least 2-4 hours everyday on Instagram.
Instagram already knows that many people are struggling due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so they are first focusing Guides on wellness content.
They’ll enable creators to connect with expert organizations to share resources during this time, including tips on how to look after our well-being, maintaining connection with others or managing anxiety or grief.

How to view a Guide
To view a Guide, visit the profile of participating creators or organizations like:
- @afspnational,
- @heads_together,
- @vitaalere,
- @klicksafe,
- @headspace_aus,
- @deepikapadukone,
- @sudahdong,
- @eenfance
Then, tap the middle icon to view their Guides.
In the coming days, all users will be able to access Guides within the Explore tab.
When viewing a Guide, the visitors can see posts and videos that the creator has curated, paired with helpful tips and advice.
In case you want to learn more details about a specific post, you can tap on the image or video to view the original Instagram post. You can also share a Guide to your story or in Direct by tapping on the share button in the upper right corner.
Instagram is showing a more sensitive and human face than other social media channels. That’s a good example of how powerful media can support society and communities all over the world. Instagram is continuing to look for new ways to support people, especially during times of need. Visit and try this new feature and stay tuned for more updates.
