Helena Chaviara is a creative entrepreneur living in Greece. She is a spouse, mom, summer addict and social media junkie, not necessarily in that order. The web is her passion and through the years she has set to transform it from a once favorite pastime to a presently useful tool of work.

She is an insatiable traveler and book reader, fashion and design lover, who greatly appreciates an intelligent conversation. Her enthusiastic and smiling personality is what strikes most the people who gets to know her.

Being a marketing post-graduate with a career in the publishing sector spanning over 10 years, she has amassed considerable experience in the management of all kinds of events.

Since 2011, apart from various and ongoing online and offline projects, she let her romantic side run wild, when she decided to pursue the realization of her dream for an agency that would offer exactly what Rock Paper Scissors Events does today. Bespoke events for extraordinary clients. At your service!

Interview Questions

Instagram is definitely number 1 to me! I can see all friends whereabouts/trips/travels and new restaurant and cafes to visit. Via our corporate account, I can see all the magic and beautiful colours and designs our colleagues from Greece and around the globe create and get inspired for our clients too.

Approximately 3-4 daily, perhaps more on weekends.

What is your job? What do you do for a living?

I’m the founder of Rock Paper Scissors Events and event planner for destination weddings & corporate events.

What do you find appealing in social media?

News hit you in a second. If you curate your profile and source of info properly you have access to all beauty of this world. And then you can close it, go see for yourself and then perhaps share again your opinion with friends and family by posting photos / stories, a review.

Name one thing that you dislike in social media.

I dislike nagging in general. If something is not up to your taste you can always click the unfollow button.

Our business http://www.rpsevents.gr was built based on social media. We managed to target the group of clients we were aiming for and to be known for our impeccable taste and unique style.

Is there something that you would like to learn more about social media or digital marketing?

Keeping up to new trends and educating on certain skills is endless, so yes, of course, we always need to be kept up to date.

Which people you believe are the most influential in social media?

Influence is something that we allow to ourselves, so we get to choose which are the ones worthy of our follow. So I follow accounts mainly in the professional level that their work I admire and get inspired from.

When was the last time you learned something new through the use of social media?

Everyday!

I go for family walks, drinks with my friends, read a good book, watch sitcoms with my spouse, travel and exercise every other day.

Can you name 3 books that you absolutely adore?

The books that I adore are:

  • Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami
  • Hotel World by Ali Smith
  • Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides
What advice would you give to yourself when you were 16 years old?

Do not hurry. Everything will come into place eventually.

“Don’t adapt to the energy in the room. Influence the energy in the room”

So, what’s your life story in a summary?

Look me up in my social profiles and you will get a pretty good idea! 😉

Bonus Question

It’s my turn to get into your shoes. Ask me anything you want.

Helena asked me: What do you do when you’re unplugged?

Reading books and listening my favorite music are my top activities when I am unplugged. During summer I spend several hours by the sea swimming or reading books or knitting sweaters while the music is playing. In winter time I bake cakes and cookies… countless cookies! I adore cookies and cakes!
