Google Hire is the new LinkedIn

Google has in store for job recruiters, Google Hire.

This project is obviously the company’s latest baby developed by its enterprise and cloud division, being led by Diane Greene. Google Hire even references Greene’s startup “Bebop,” which Google acquired back in 2015 for $380 million*.

Some very lucky companies are already using the service, including startups Medisas, Poynt, DramaFever, SingleHop, and CoreOS. My personal opinion is that most probably, Google is simply using these companies to test the overall functionality.

Google Cloud

Although Google is one of the first cloud companies, and has made excellent work for consumers, it has to make a great effort to keep pace with Amazon Web Services, Microsoft and IBM in the cloud enterprise.

So this project looks like a clear and loud message that the King is back! Google knows how to build outstanding strategy and apply it with the best results. This new project is going to change the game into platform, infrastructure and software.

Google, once again, make heads turn! Cloud services could not escape their expertise and vision about how market will need to work for the next decade. Google is leading the game quietly. Just think: Google Docs, Google Drive, GMail, Google Calendar, Google Translate; are only some types of core cloud services that many consumers use everyday. Now add Google Hire.

Google Buys Bebop, 19 November 2015, Techcrunch

Google announced it was buying enterprise development platform startup bebop and making its founder, Diane Greene head of Google’s enterprise cloud business.

Greene boasts an impressive background as one one of the co-founders and former CEO at VMware. Her company had been operating in stealth up until today’s acquisition.

Google made the move official in a blog post by CEO Sundar Pichai. He said Greene will run a new integrated enterprise cloud businesses, that will combine Google for Work, Cloud Platform, and Google Apps with a new consolidated product, engineering, marketing and sales team that was missing before this, Pichai explained in the blog post.  Continue reading …
