+ Find joy in the little things by Areti Vassou

Find joy in the little things | Areti Vassou | LinkedIn

Even under the influence of difficult conditions, we all may experience joy from everyday little things. Personally have never failed to believe that the smallest things can have the biggest impact on our life. A sweet word, a warm smile, a tender look, a graceful silence, a cup of tea just as you like it, a hi-miss-you quick call, a surprise silly-but-funny gift and so many more that can turn the table in a sec and may help to escape worries or problems at that point in time.

Being an adult requires a heavy effort in many and various fields but still… We all can choose how to handle the uncertainty of life. And as precious Life is, sometimes it doesn’t feel easy to wake up in the morning with a big smile on our face.

We only have to pay attention to all those small details that if they were suddenly stripped out of our everyday routine would leave a sense of emptiness. Kindness and dedication are valuable and worth seeking. Offer your caring attention generously and you will be surprised how joy and happiness will find ways to return back to you.

Some years ago, when I was fired from my last job, my best friend gave me this sign to hung over my desk. As stupid as it may seem this TRUTH LIST inspired me to build my own company.

  • Human life is short
  • Choose your battles
  • Just do it
  • Everything changes, every second
  • Don’t wait for an apology to forgive
  • It is what it is
  • Silence is gold
  • Some people are simply the wrong match for you
  • What you own is not who you are
  • It is not other people’s job to love you, only yours
  • You live the life you create for yourself
  • Everything is doable
  • Thinking and doing is not the same
  • Being busy doesn’t mean productive
  • Some kind of failure always occurs before success

And guess what… Success came into my life and stay with me!

“Within lies a gypsy soul and a loving light that shines right from my heart to yours…

Welcome to my blog and thank you for taking the time to read a little about me. This is a loving space for all to share, inspire and be inspired. A place for the magic makers, the dreamers and conjurers, the wild at heart, the love makers, the freedom seekers, the light workers, to all those who long to express their inner worlds through creativity and love.

One of my deepest desires and joys in life is to be inspired and to inspire others. To awaken the joy, the love, and the freedom for creative self expression.

My ever expanding heart is so full of love, compassion, and acceptance for all beings, for our precious mother earth, and most importantly for myself. Love starts from within each of us, infinitely rippling and healing our world. I’m always willing to share my vulnerability and truth with the world, and to have the courage to be imperfect.

I’ve spent more than 15 years of my life working as a biomedical naturopath and healer. I specialised in the area of nutrigenomics and worked mostly with children with autism spectrum disorders, all over this amazing globe. It’s been a wonderful, rewarding career and I am so grateful for the honour and opportunity to be a part of healing another’s life. Now I have journeyed back to my creative roots and I am feeling so immensely blessed to have rediscovered this passion of mine. Leaping heart first into the realm of style, I have embarked upon one of the most healing journey’s of my life.

When I’m not styling and dreaming up visions, I’m nurturing my precious family. I’m blessed as a mother of two angels, married to a kindred soul (who also happens to be my incredibly gifted photographer). We are a Finnish – Australian – American family now living in the divine sunshine filled, beachy paradise Western Australia.

Have in mind that this project is not something you can really knock out in a day. Needs patience and inspiration…. Take all the time you need for the preparation, categorize, testing and forming the perfect collection before you start hanging it on the wall.

First, you have to find the right wall, then you have to pick the photos or artworks that really inspire you. Both of those steps can be easy if you already have some pieces waiting to be used. If you just start your collection, most probably you are surrounded by a ton of “artworks” that have fallen out of your attention. Where?

Your old family photos inside a forgotten box, some handmade sketch made in a hurry with pencil and are still under the coffee table, an old book full of maps, seashells from your last trip to Santorini, a very old love letter, your kid’s paintings or some of their first clothes…. Yes, your house is a huge treasure box. Take a very good look around…

Whether it’s big, small or somewhere in between, creating a gallery with your favourite photos and art pieces can instantly elevate the style of any house.

But the final step is the hard part… Frames!!! Are you wondering which one to use for each art piece? First of all, have a clear budget list and a confirmed sense of style that actually agree with your house. Visit as many frame stores as possible, to find the perfect-in-budget frames. Of course, e-commerce websites can be really helpful, like POTTERY BARN , IKEA , HABITAT or SIA etc.

Now you are ready to start assembling your gallery wall. It may need some days or weeks but the result will reward you with joy…

Kyriazi Freres (also spelled Kyriazi Frères) was a cigarette manufacturing company established in 1873 in Egypt. The company was founded by Ioannis Kyriazis, together with his brothers Efstathios and Epaminondas, although his other two brothers, George and Dimitris also played an active role in the company.

The company was formally established in 1873, as advertised on all its products. In 1897 the brothers constructed a purpose-built factory in the Cairo district of Tewfikieh and they employed over 500 workers to manufacture hand-made cigarettes. The company expanded due to a successful advertising campaign and their brands became known across Europe and the Middle East.

They had an outlet at 20 Cheapside, London, as well as agents in Austria, Hungary, and Switzerland. By 1901, Kyriazi Freres was exporting over 103 million cigarettes a year. Some years later the sons of Ioannis (Damianos and Constantinos b.1891-d.1962) opened custom-built factories in Amsterdam, the Netherlands (1922), and in Hamburg, Germany (1925).

Their most well-known brands were Aris, Astra, Conqueror Extra, Egyptian, Emir, Ferik, Finas, Ideal, Imperatore, Neptune, Special, and Zenith. These brands were awarded several quality awards at exhibitions and trade fairs.

+ Welcome March

Welcome Spring

About March. The name of March comes from Latin Martius, the first month of the earliest Roman calendar. It was named for Mars, the Roman god of war who was also regarded as a guardian of agriculture and an ancestor of the Roman people through his sons Romulus and Remus.

The month Martius was the beginning of the season for both farming and warfare, and the festivals held in his honor during the month were mirrored by others in October when the season for these activities came to a close.

Martius remained the first month of the Roman calendar year perhaps as late as 153 BC, and several religious observances in the first half of the month were originally new year’s celebrations. Even in late antiquity, Roman mosaics picturing the months sometimes still placed March first.

In case you own an eshop then you should post all your valentine-related products or special services. But if you don’t own an eshop then you should stay out of this trend. Now, for all hopeless romantics: spend the day with your significant other and stay away from social media.

About IDEADECO Blog

Can you believe that I am swimming in Blogging Culture since 1994?

My first business website was on air in 1994 and my very first blog post was three lines long and took me a year to create the code in order to publish it. Can you believe that?

From 1994 until 1998 I spend countless hours mastering this “weblog” process. Sometime around 1996, Flash come into our lives and on the Internet. With Flash technology, we could include easy animations of images into websites. That made the content more appealing!

Around the same time, we were introduced to Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) and for a while, the design was easier. Later, Web Content Editors made our work friendlier. These HTML formatting tools allowed text customization – from turning it to bold, italic or underlined, to various alignments, or the possibility to add media and so on without writing HTML code.

And then a small miracle happened! On August 23, 1999, Blogger was launched by Pyra Labs. As one of the earliest dedicated blog-publishing tools, it is credited for helping popularize the format. In February 2003, Pyra Labs was acquired by Google. Blogging became easy peasy!

About the same period WordPress come into our lives. If the internet is the father of blogging, then WordPress is the mother!

For professionals (like me) that earned their living through content creation & web design, the 21st November 2005 changed their lives for the better in countless ways.

WordPress made it clear that blogging isn’t just for hobbyists. Thanks to its friendly environment all businesses, organizations, and professionals could blog to boost their site’s traffic and get noticed.

It was WordPress that explained to us that blogging regularly is still the single most important thing you can do to increase your site’s SEO (Search Engine Optimization). People with a WordPress.com Business Plan can also use Advanced SEO tools to customize the meta description with a summary that does a better job at captivating readers and potentially increasing the post’s search page ranking.

Even if you have a website with mostly static content, add a “Blog” or “News” section, so you can regularly update it in order to make search engines see that your site is active.

WordPress.com (WordPress) is a blogging platform that is owned and hosted online by Automattic. It is run on a modified version of WordPress (WordPress.org), an open-source piece of software used by bloggers. This website provides free blog hosting for registered users and is financially supported via paid upgrades, “VIP” services, and advertising.

  • WordPress.org was released on May 27, 2003, by its founders, Matt Mullenweg and Mike Little, as a fork of b2/cafelog. The software was released under the GPLv2 (or later) license.
  • The site opened to beta testers on August 8, 2005, and opened to the public on November 21, 2005. It was initially launched as an invitation-only service, although at one stage, accounts were also available to users of the Flock web browser. As of February 2017, over 77 million new posts and 42.7 million new comments were published monthly on the service.
  • 23 April 2013 – Our First Day under the new WordPress skin. It’s our 5th effort to run a blog.

  • 2008 – 2012 – Tried the new kid in the block, Joomla, for some years but soon I was back to WordPress blogging, in private mode.

  • 2005 – 2008 Tried so many different options of blogging that have lost counting.

  • 2004-2005 WordPress was love at first sight. And our 4th effort to have a blog.

  • 2000 – 2004 Some lines here and there…

  • 1999 – 2000 Live Journal & Blogger was introduced to us. And this was our 3rd effort to have a good-looking blog.

  • 1996 -1998 – Flash and Open Diary come into our life. It was the 2nd effort of our blog.

  • 1994 – Our very first effort to create a business website. It was three lines long…

Remember that blogging is a marathon not a sprint.- Areti Vassou

About Blogging

Running a personal blog (not for clients) is keeping you in the loop of technology. Without much hesitation, I can say that thanks to my blog I have met a lot of interesting people. Also, deep research has become my side project and nature!

It has given me the opportunity to enjoy many interviews, close strong deals with clients, and is an active bridge to meet large business owners. Blogging has become an incredible source of search engine traffic and exposure for my skills as an SEO ExpertContent Creator and Digital Marketing Strategist.

I have learned that it doesn’t need any magical powers to express yourself in public. All you have to do is to be brave, be open, be polite, and speak up. The act of writing transforms the way you see life and the people around you. Why? Because you speak less and observe more.
