Yes, they are back!!!
Whether it’s big, small or somewhere in between, creating a gallery with your favorite photos and art pieces can instantly elevate the style of any house.
Have in mind that this project is not something you can really knock out in a day. Needs patience and inspiration…. Take all the time you need for the preparation, categorize, testing and forming the perfect collection before you start hanging it on the wall.
First, you have to find the right wall, then you have to pick the photos or artworks that really inspire you. Both of those steps can be easy if you already have some pieces waiting to be used. If you just start your collection, most probably you are surrounded by a ton of “artworks” that have fallen out of your attention. Where?
Your old family photos inside a forgotten box, some handmade sketch made in a hurry with pencil and are still under the coffee table, an old book full of maps, seashells from your last trip to Santorini, a very old love letter, your kid’s paintings or some of their first clothes…. Yes, your house is a huge treasure box. Take a very good look around…
But the final step is the hard part… Frames!!! Are you wondering which one to use for each art piece? First of all, have a clear budget list and a confirmed sense of style that actually agree with your house. Visit as many frame stores as possible, to find the perfect-in-budget frames. Of course, e-commerce websites can be really helpful, like POTTERY BARN , IKEA , HABITAT or SIA etc.
Now you are ready to start assembling your gallery wall. It may need some days or weeks but the result will reward you with joy…
Egyptian Cigarette Tin
KYRIAZI FRERES Egyptian Cigarette Tin c1890 LADY & LION (box for 100 Egyptian Cigarettes IMPERATOR MINCE).
Rare vintage antique Egyptian Cigarette Tin Box by KYRIAZI FRERES manufactured in 1890.
Kyriazi Freres (also spelled Kyriazi Frères) was a cigarette manufacturing company established in 1873 in Egypt. The company was founded by Ioannis Kyriazis, together with his brothers Efstathios and Epaminondas, although his other two brothers, George and Dimitris also played an active role in the company.
The company was formally established in 1873, as advertised on all their products. In 1897 the brothers constructed a purpose-built factory in the Cairo district of Tewfikieh and they employed over 500 workers to manufacture hand-made cigarettes. The company expanded due to a successful advertising campaign and their brands became known across Europe and the Middle East.
They had an outlet at 20 Cheapside, London, as well as agents in Austria, Hungary and Switzerland. By 1901, Kyriazi Freres were exporting over 103 million cigarettes a year. Some years later the sons of Ioannis (Damianos and Constantinos b.1891-d.1962) opened custom-built factories in Amsterdam, the Netherlands (1922) and in Hamburg, Germany (1925).
Their most well-known brands were Aris, Astra, Conqueror Extra, Egyptian, Emir, Ferik, Finas, Ideal, Imperatore, Neptune, Special, and Zenith. These brands were awarded several quality awards at exhibitions and trade fairs.
MarchThe name of March comes from Latin Martius, the first month of the earliest Roman calendar. It was named for Mars, the Roman god of war who was also regarded as a guardian of agriculture and an ancestor of the Roman people through his sons Romulus and Remus.
The month Martius was the beginning of the season for both farming and warfare, and the festivals held in his honor during the month were mirrored by others in October when the season for these activities came to a close.
Martius remained the first month of the Roman calendar year perhaps as late as 153 BC, and several religious observances in the first half of the month were originally new year’s celebrations. Even in late antiquity, Roman mosaics picturing the months sometimes still placed March first.
Welcome March and Spring!
We love warm and bright days of Spring.
As I end one month and get ready to start another, I have to say, I’m really looking forward to enjoying the change of seasons. I have the honor of working with exceptional brands for their Search Engine Optimization strategy plan and the creation of their unique content & marketing.
I am looking forward to diving into March. It’s always fun to mix things up a bit when creating content for digital marketing research, photography brands, wedding planners and doctors!
We are ready for our next adventure!
March challenge is to publish a new 800 -1000 words post every single day. Never in my life have I accomplish this schedule. Seems near to impossible but I will do my best to reach my goal: 31 posts!
What about you? What are your plans?
How are you stepping into the new month?
